With apologies to The Pretenders, I
am back on the train, gang. Coming
home. And wary of Stewards carrying
scalding coffee.
One of the great Pow!s during my
brief sojourn in Toronto was learning ‘bout a heartwarming and coffer-filling initiative
launched by Wellington Financial, one of Canada’s leading tech financing
specialists. Playing against the
stereotype of selfish, cash-grabbing Scrooges (a key “How To” in generating
Surprise), Wellington donated all profits generated by its loan portfolio and
its general partnership on Tuesday, December 12 to a handful of charitable organizations in
and around its home base of the aforementioned city (strict Montreal by-laws
prevent me from mentioning the word “Toronto” twice in the same paragraph).
And if you think this is an
insubstantial amount, you OBVIOUSLY don’t know Wellington. No wonder its Prez and CEO Mark McQueen is one of the People I Dig.
Even more so
now…
