A little follow-up to my French Deli post of last week.
As my wife Lynn and I were leaving Vail, she thought it would be nice to tell the owner of the forementioned restaurant that he was mentioned as a provider of Pow! at Surprise Central.
"Oy, leave it alone," I told her. "I don't think he'll get it, or care. And besides, he's closed."
But my wife, ever the sweet one, knowing that this individual is unlikely to ego-seek himself on Technorati, insisted.
So we walked up to the Deli's glass doors, and my wife knocked.
The owner, behind the counter tallying receipts from the day, shooed her away unceremoniously.
"No, no, I don't want something to eat!" she explained. "My husband mentioned you in his blog! Nice things! You're on the Internet!"
And with that, he ventured forth around the counter, approached the door...
...and pointed to the sign that shows that he closes at 4:01 p.m.
A bit of a 'tood I guess, but you gotta admire a guy who sticks to his convictions so adamantly and so stubbornly.
And at all costs, too.
