Looking through my vacation photos for the previous post, I stumbled upon (Digressionary question: How come all the great terms are being usurped by Web 2.0 companies?) the photo below, which brought back waves of memories from my first-ever college marketing class, taught by the legendary Don Tobin.
In it, Don taught us about the dangers of language, and how certain trademarks and company names don't travel well. Example: The brand of milk known as "Pet," which meant "Fart" in French.
But even in Don's wildest dreams, I don't think he could've ever come up with the dangers of the Danish term for "Final Sale":
