As a guy who's been dealing with famous people his whole life, and has enjoyed his share of media attention and glare, I can't help but love this quote from Apollo Astronaut James Lovell (culled from a Time Magazine piece on the 40th Anniversary of man walking on the moon):
"Remember where you're standing when the spotlight goes off. You'll have to find your own way off the stage"
Fitting this blog's theme of Surprise, the above is perhaps shock #1 (and certainly not a euphoric one) to almost everyone in showbiz, most who assume that once the good times roll, they do forever. Lovell's poignant reflection should be the first thing taught in acting classes.
