I don't know what you are doing this morning, but I can say with much authority I know what's going on inside Chris Barnes' class over at Lakeland Community College, just outside Cleveland, in Ohio.
As you're reading this, Chris's students are taking a cue from this post last week, and are putting together their own "Brand New Days." Lemme let the Business Management prof himself explain...
Andy,Great idea for a class assignment. I am using it in my Principles of Marketing, BUSM2500. I am assigning it on Monday and since you asked, here is a copy of the assignment:
A Brand New Day AssignmentPlease complete the attached table for any day this week (or the perfect day if one exists for you). Please add the logos of major brands you used throughout the day, excluding any of a personal, medical or sexual nature. You can find the logos by going to the product websites or, as a start, use Google and search the product name with the word logo (e.g. "Starbucks logo"). That should get you many of the major companies easily. Then save the file as a picture and insert it into a chart on a Powerpoint presentation slide.
You may use the attached chart and just put your own brands and times in place of mine if you have Powerpoint. If not, you can use whatever charting software you have. This is due on Wednesday 9/9. Please bring a color hard copy to class so we can discuss.
Well, gotta say I'm looking forward to next Wednesday, as I've asked Chris to share the results with us all. Until then, I hope that at least a couple of them choose to include a brand made up of a fist, a few stars and a loud sound effect.
